As a single mother, balancing the demands of parenthood with the desire to build a thriving business is no easy feat. I know this firsthand—back in 2021, I received a $1,000 grant that allowed me to invest in a personal branding and pitch course. That investment was life changing. It taught me the foundational principles of business, helped me learn how to pitch to brands, and ultimately empowered me to secure contracts with corporations such as Adobe, Microsoft, and United Way.

The Thriving Single Mama Grant isn’t just about funding—it’s about giving you the financial support, visibility, and empowerment you need to scale your business and provide greater opportunities for your family.   • To be eligible, you must identify as a single mother, be 18 years or older, and operate a small business, side hustle, or nonprofit based in the US. Your business can be in the idea or growth stage.

  • To apply, simply complete the online application form, share your story through a short video or written response, and attach your business plan or project outline. All the details can be found in the "How to Apply" section above.

  • The grant funds can be used to grow or scale your business or nonprofit. This can include expenses like marketing, inventory, equipment, software, or any other costs directly related to the growth of your venture.

  • The Thriving Single Mama Grant is awarded bi-annually. The application deadlines for each cycle are:

    • Spring Cycle: March 1, 2025

    • Fall Cycle: August 1, 2025

  • Winners will be selected based on the strength of their story, the clarity and potential impact of their business or nonprofit, and the detailed plan they provide for using the grant funds. The selection committee will review all applications and choose the recipient(s) based on these criteria.

  • Yes! All applicants who are not selected will automatically be considered for the second deadline. However, a new application is required each year to be considered for the grant. We encourage you to continue applying and updating your application to reflect any new developments in your business or nonprofit.
